VOICES FESTIVAL

The new VOICES festival creates space for artistic voices that are in danger of being silenced due to current personal and collective traumas. At the heart of the music, theater and dance productions at various venues in Berlin are artists from the countries of the former Soviet Union, some of whom have recently fled from there, but some of whom also have to continue working in their homeland and find new ways to make themselves heard. Ensembles such as Klangforum Wien and the Neue Vocalsolisten bring works to life during the festival, some of which can hardly be presented in their places of origin at present. The personal struggle for national and international identities, which is expressed in many artistic works, reflects the challenges of our time.
