VOICES FESTIVAL

The new festival VOICES creates space for artistic voices that are in danger of being silenced due to current personal and collective traumas. The music, theatre, and dance productions at various venues in Berlin focus on artists from the countries of the former Soviet Union, some of whom have recently fled, and some of whom must continue to work in their homeland and find new ways to make themselves heard. Thus, ensembles such as Klangforum Wien and the Neue Vocalsolisten make it possible to experience works during the festival, some of which can hardly be presented at their places of origin. The personal struggle for national and international identities expressed in many artistic works reflects the challenges of our time.
