Singer Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh & the Irish Chamber Orchestra reignite their project „Róisín ReImagined“, conjuring up old musical traditions and bringing them into the present day under the direction of Cormac McCarthy: Muireann's incomparable singing, which makes her one of the leading interpreters of Irish music, meets new orchestral arrangements of sean-nós songs. Sean-nós (Irish for "old style") refers to the originally unaccompanied and highly ornamented style of Irish singing. Six leading Irish composers were commissioned by the Kilkenny Arts Festival and the Irish Chamber Orchestra to create the new arrangements for the project named after the "Irish rose", a personification of Ireland.
