Sean-nós (Irish for "old style") refers to the originally unaccompanied and highly ornamented style of Irish singing. Six leading Irish composers were commissioned by the Kilkenny Arts Festival and the Irish Chamber Orchestra to create the new arrangements for the project named after the "Irish rose", a personification of Ireland.
